Project Outline

Reservoir quality is usually very variable due to the degree of heterogeneities, most of which are below conventional seismic resolution and have a profound impact on subsurface fluid flow. As a result, exploration, development and production of oil & gas may involve high costs and great risks. The buildup of a comprehensive understanding of the nature, distribution and hydraulic properties of both structural and stratigraphic key features encountered in a reservoir is hence critical to mitigate both costs and risks. One method to more accurately interpret and predict the architecture of reservoir heterogeneities is through an integrated approach to the characterization of appropriate outcrop analogues.
